The global oil and gas, coal chemical, and fine chemical sectors are increasingly moving toward more demanding operating conditions and higher performance requirements. As a result, industrial pipeline systems must handle increasingly challenging environments, including elevated temperatures, high pressures, abrasive particle-laden fluids, and corrosive media containing hydrogen sulfide.
Conventional soft-seated valves often struggle to maintain reliable sealing performance under these extreme conditions. Continuous media erosion, thermal deformation, and wear caused by solid particles can accelerate seal failure, resulting in recurring leakage issues and reduced equipment service life.
Meanwhile, fire-safe designs and low-fugitive emission performance have become increasingly important requirements in international industrial projects. Standards such as API 6FA for fire-tested valve performance and ISO 15848 for fugitive emission control are now key technical considerations when selecting valves for demanding industrial applications.
To overcome the limitations of conventional sealing technologies, metal-to-metal sealing structures with hard alloy overlay are widely adopted in severe-service valve applications. These designs provide enhanced resistance to abrasion, erosion, and high-temperature damage. In addition, safety features such as anti-static devices, blowout-proof stems, and Double Block and Bleed (DBB) configurations are increasingly specified for high-risk chemical and petrochemical pipeline systems, helping improve operational reliability and overall process safety.
